1st Date Post Baby

Alex and I went on our first date after having the baby last week! We went to see The Avengers, and we both really liked it! It was a great movie! We can't wait for Batman to come out in July, my husband wants to see it at midnight so we will see.

We are also going to see the Red Hot Chili Pepper's in October at the Sprint Center. This will probably be our first night away from the baby, because we are thinking about staying at P and L.

We are thinking about starting a weekly date night after this class is over, since I am used to being away from the baby.

Vacation Coming Up!

We will be leaving for vacation on June 3rd! My husband and I are going to Tennessee to see some family  . We are making our first stop at my maternal grandmother's house, then my fraternal grandmother's house, and then to my cousin's in North Carolina. It will be quite a trip but we are very excited. I am anxious to see how the drive will go with Harper, but I am hoping she will be ok.

Harper is 4 Months!!

On the 23rd Harper turned 4 months old! She is rolling over from her belly to her back and from her back to her belly. She can hold herself up about 90 degrees when on her belly! She loves to babble and laugh and thinks her daddy is hilarious. I am excited to see how she continues to change.

Birthday

My birthday was yesterday and I had a really good time with my family. Harper woke me up at 5, an hour and a half earlier than normal, and then had a huge blow out diaper. But other than that I had a great day! I went to lunch with my husband and then my mom cooked a big family dinner. It was great to have everyone together.

Family Events

My daughter was dedicated on Sunday! My best friend who lives in Seattle came into town for the dedication because she is my daughter's Godmother. It was a really small, beautiful ceremony outside and my family and I really enjoyed another excuse to all get together.

Also, my little brother graduated from High School on Tuesday Night! I am very proud of him, he graduated in the top 10% of his class and was on the President's Honor Roll all four years! He is going to KSU in the Fall, and majoring in Golf Course Management. I am excited to have a good excuse to visit Manhattan, and Aggieville! :)

YAY for Graduation!!!

I was so happy to graduate this past weekend. I still have to finish up my current class, but it feels really good to reach the giant finish line. The graduation ceremony was great and I am really glad my family got to come and support me! I am truly blessed for having the opportunity to attend Avila and I am grateful for the wonderful teachers I have had. Coming from KSU, I was really surprised at how qualified my teachers were and how much they cared about my education. It has been a great journey but I am glad it is (almost) over. :)

First Mother's Day

I will be celebrating my first Mother's Day this Sunday and I'm super excited about it.  My husband and I are having our daughter dedicated on Sunday morning as well.  Becoming a mother has been extremely rewarding and I look forward to getting to officially celebrate being a mom.  I'll try to post some pictures of my daughters dedication dress later this week.

I also wanted to let you all know I'll miss class Tuesday the 15th as my brother is graduating from high school that night.  I wish I could be there to help review everyone's media kit, please keep me posted on what I miss.

Family Time

The past few days have been really hectic because a lot of my family has come into town for graduation. I'm really excited to see everyone, but I am exhausted from all of the preparation that comes before their visit.  It also can be a lot of work making sure everyone is entertained and content.  For many of my family members this is the first time that they've seen my baby and that's been really fun.  I just need to get used to the endless parenting advice that they all want to dish out.

The Fun Begins!

On Monday, January 23rd at 8:26 PM, my husband and I welcomed our baby girl Harper Marie into the world. As soon as we heard our baby girl cry we knew our lives would never be the same. Joy filled our hearts and we were overwhelmed with love for our new family.

Harper weighed in at 5 lbs 12 ozs, and she was 18.5 inches long. Our tiny little peanut!

I hope to use this blog as a way to share my adventure of becoming a new parent and share all the fun with family and friends who can't be here to see her grow up.
